CALLING ALL LITERATURE SECRETARIES

Hi there, I do the literature at the Friday HOW meeting at Hinde Street, and I would like to link up with literature secretaries at other meetings.

  •  Please email me at robslaa@gmail.com if you are interested
  •  To co- ordinate getting hold of literature: - If I can do a print run of 30 HOW beginners kits and split it among 3- 4 meetings, it's a lot easier and cheaper than doing a run of 5- 10 every time. - If I need to re- stock on leaflets from the US, and pay the massive shipping charge ($26 - whqat's that about??!!), it makes much more sense to split the delivery cost with other meetings.
  •  To manage excess literature - For some reason, I have 24 copies of the HOW 6-12 pack: hopefully there's a meeting out there who are just about to run out to whom I could sell 5 copies. - Similarly, I could really do with getting hold of some "Setting bottom lines" and "Anorexia" leaflets. If your meeting has too many, maybe I could buy some off you.
  •  To exchange knowledge/experience: - I'd  be happy to share my experience of which bits of literature seem to shift fastest, and which have sat on my table staring accusingly at me for the last n weeks.

Either here on the forum, or - probably better - a Yahoo group would be a great way to manage this. This can hopefully link in with the Intergroup literature committee's programme. Looking forward to your feedback! Rob

hi rob and everyone, im the new-ish literature sec at the tuesday Notting Hill meeting. Good to come across this thread; I reckon I could do with hearing lots of advice about good literature as I don't think we have much at our little meeting. I'm going to email you my email address.......

Hi Rob, I will see what's

Hi Rob,

I will see what's available next week and check with the group; the CDs tend to go very quickly but I am looking into the possibility of burning copies from the originals (if/when I get permission from World Service). Ditto the topic journals. Provided the group conscience agrees to do a joint order in future I can let you know before I place the next one.

Hi, I'm the literature

Hi,

I'm the literature secretary for the Saturday afternoon anorexia focus meeting at Hinde Street. I have just placed an order for the group but am interested in finding out more about doing a joint order in future, and in exchanging information about which material sells quickly.

We are a non-HOW format group; the items which seem to get scooped up immediately are the topic journals on anorexia, healthy relationships and with a twelve step focus, and the CDs. The pamphlets go pretty fast too.

I would be interested to know whether anyone has been in contact with the World Service web site regarding burning copies of CDs to resell at meetings and the copyright implications of this. I did e-mail world service some time ago to ask permission but haven't heard back yet.

Thanks,

Aline
